Yavapai County, Arizona: In honor of Volunteer Appreciation Week, the Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management (YCOEM) wants to thank all the volunteers who dedicate their time and expertise to safeguarding our community during emergencies. This week, we spotlight the important contributions of Animal Disaster Services (ADS), Large Animal Shelter & Emergency Readiness (LASER), and the Amateur Radio Emergency Service/Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (ARES/RACES).

ADS has been instrumental in providing care and emergency sheltering for pets. LASER volunteers have been pivotal in sheltering barn animals such as horses, chickens, goats, sheep, and pigs. ARES/RACES volunteers provide critical communication services when traditional systems are compromised.

YCOEM is also immensely grateful for the collaboration with the Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD). This network of volunteers, businesses, faith-based organizations, and government organizations plays a crucial role in all phases of an emergency: preparedness, response, and recovery.

As we continue to face challenges and emergencies, the need for committed volunteers grows. We encourage community members to consider joining our teams. Volunteering with YCOEM offers an opportunity to make a significant impact in our community, develop new skills, and work alongside dedicated individuals who share a commitment to safety and resilience.

This Volunteer Appreciation Week, we extend our deepest gratitude to all our volunteers, past, present, and future for their unwavering service and dedication.
